Founded in 2024, our rescue was created from the simple belief that all animals matter. Executive directors Matt Katz and Sam Regalia didn’t start the rescue out of a love for morphs and “collecting” every exotic species under the sun, but a passion for our local ecosystem and the role that reptiles and amphibians play in it. From 2024 to 2026 we operated as a full blown reptile rescue, taking in every surrender that came our way. But seeing the emotional and financial hardship of rescue firsthand, we learned to adapt and recognized that specializing in the species we were most passionate about would yield the best results for us, for the animals, and for our organization’s longevity.

We strongly advocate for veterinary care for all reptiles and improving the standards of reptile husbandry. And we stand firmly against unethical breeding, exploitation of the exotic pet trade, and the commodification of animals through reptile expos, pet stores, and online trade. Our goal is to build a more informed and compassionate community and to use reptile keeping as a bridge to connect people with the natural world around around them.
